Art, music readily available in Ohio schools, and popular, too (Columbus Dispatch)

At Reynoldsburg’s Encore Academy, every class can become an art class.
 
Instead of producing book reports or PowerPoint presentations, students often illustrate concepts using supplies provided by a traveling “art cart.”
Recently, 16-year-old junior Alana Frey created a sculpture in government class of Mother Earth holding a book with the recipe for uniting a community. Art makes learning easier for her, she said.
 
“I’ve been creating art since I was born,” Frey said.
